I remember meeting professionals I admired in my youth and asking them, “How did you get here?” The answers were never what I expected. There are so many paths to success. My own path to Henry & Harvey starts with my family, a family of hardworking Polish immigrants and entrepreneurs who carved out a life for themselves in Canada and instilled in me the drive to work hard and succeed. After high school, I followed my creative instincts into photography. I was interested in fashion and I wanted to share that beauty with the world. But it didn’t feel like quite the right fit. I was stuck in the knowledge that I needed to move forward but I wasn’t sure where to go and it weighed on me.
It’s always been important to me to love what I do. When I left photography, I thought long and hard about what truly makes me feel fulfilled and all roads led back to the animal companions who I shared so much of my life with. For as long as I could remember I had been surrounded by pets. We always had animals in our family home and when I moved out on my own that never changed. There was always at least one dog in my life. I decided I wanted to work with animals and before long I found myself at the bottom of the corporate ladder in a large pet industry organization. Within five years, I had climbed my way to the position of National Sales Director in Canada where I discovered my second true passion: business. A few years after that and here I am, President & CEO of Henry & Harvey, a relationship-based sales organization driven by my passion for pets, helping other entrepreneurs achieve their dreams and chasing the thrill of a good sale.

After a couple of years of owning a dog and a mountain of veterinary bills you begin to learn a lot about the pet industry and you also learn that you will do absolutely everything in your power to ensure your pet has the best quality of life. Because my dog is like my child I have always ensured that he always plays with the highest quality toys, consumes the best food in the industry and is outfitted with the trendiest clothing.
Having been in sales for quite some time and graduating from George Brown College with an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration Marketing I have learned to become tenacious in obtaining customer loyalty and forging strong relationships with clients. From working as an Inside Sales Representative and Sales Coordinator at a communications company to managing a territory in Toronto of 400 Independent Sales Representatives, I have a well-rounded background in Business to Business sales. Building a successful career is extremely important and something I have always dreamed of.
Working at Henry & Harvey and representing our amazing partners is a dream come true and I know this is only the beginning of a wonderful opportunity!

As a child I always wanted to be surrounded by animals. Animals have been a huge part of my life growing up and to work in an industry targeted towards them is something I am truly passionate about.
I did not expect to be working in sales, I always figured I would be working at a veterinary clinic… turns out my stomach is a lot weaker than expected and I could not handle seeing animals in pain. This however, lead me to the decision to try to go to school for policing and work in the K9 unit. I entered college for police foundation excited about what my future would hold. I completed my two years in the program and graduated. During those two years I quickly came to realize that being a police officer was not something that truly interested me and not something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I took a year off of school to figure out what I could see as a career path for myself.
My year of research and talking to friends and family lead me to the decision to go back to school for Marketing and Advertising Communications. It was something that lead to many different job options and that was very important to me. I did not want to be limited after school as to what my career path would look like. Throughout the program I came to realize that the sales/customer relations portion is what interested me the most. Having worked in a customer service role with a bank for six years, I knew this was something that I was good at. I enjoyed interacting with customers and building relationships.
Shortly after completing my program I worked as an assistant for a media buying company. I learned many skills in this role but it wasn’t exactly the right fit for me. Leaving my position at that company lead me to find a sales role with a company that manufactured housewares and pet products. I thought to myself, finally something that I am truly interested in! The pet side of the business was always of more interest to me and I knew it was something that I enjoyed, especially speaking to customers about products.
Learning about the pet industry and knowing I wanted to expand my sales career within it has lead me to Henry & Harvey. Having the opportunity to meet with people that share the same passions as myself is something that makes me want to get up and go to work everyday. I get to share my knowledge and enthusiasm about great products that get pet owners excited! I am working in a field that I am passionate about and I cannot wait to see what the future holds!

After high school choosing a career path was challenging, I was so unsure what my calling in life was. I chose to attended hairdressing school with some friends but found myself feeling like something was missing. Following leaving the beauty industry I started a job at a pet store in my hometown as a part time cashier. I expected to work there just until I had found another career choice to pursue but instead I found my true passion. I was surrounded by so many people who shared my love for animals. My manager at the time taught me all she knew about animal care and I found myself loving work everyday and feeling so fulfilled. I enjoyed being able to help customers find ways to enrich their bond with their pet and I found pet nutrition to be fascinating.
I purchased my first sphynx cat Colin at 24 and fell in love with the breed. Shortly after I started a small hobby cattery called “The Gentleman’s Sphynx”. I successfully raised three lovely litters of kittens and found them all the perfect families. Today I still stay in touch with all of my kittens’ families who I have become great friends with along the way. My 3 sphynx cats are my best friends and they continue to make me laugh everyday!
I continued to work at the pet store for 8 years, moving up into the assistant manager position. I continued to develop my pet knowledge and was immersed in the pet sales industry by having the opportunity to attend PIJAC and other pet expos. I am grateful for the years I spent with the lovely owners of that local pet store and all the amazing staff, who quickly became family.
I came upon the Henry & Harvey position and after looking at their website and just knew I had to apply! I jumped at the opportunity and haven’t looked back. I am excited for the future and am so thankful for the chance to be able to travel and meet new people who are also in the pet industry. Can’t wait to see what life brings!
